Columbia River Cowboy Heritage Society
Preserving Our Western and Cowboy Heritage


Youth Poets

A project of the Columbia River Cowboy Heritage Society is the sharing of our western and cowboy heritage with the youth of today. The following poems are a welcome and rewarding result of that activity.

The young folks are from 3rd grade classes at Ruth Livingston School in Pasco, Washington. Surnames are not published in the interest of the poet's privacy. Please click on the list entries below to go directly to specific poems.

Dirty Dog

I have a dog that is furry and tall
He likes to chase and catch a ball
If it goes in the mud, he gets all dirty
Then I clean him off with a hose that's squirty

It's a red, white and blue beauty
The words say "An American Cutey"

The Weird Fish
